Bayeux reporters memorial

International press freedom day is marked on 3 May. In 2007 the town of Bayeux opened a memorial dedicated to journalists who died while carrying out their duties since 1944. Almost two thousand names are carved on white stones in a small park next to the Museum of the Battle of Normandy.

May Day flower: muguet - lily of the valley

Lily of the valley - le muguet (pronounced mew-geh) is the traditional symbol of May Day in France. You will see people selling them on every street corner.
