The town of Cancale, at the Western edge of the Bay of Mont St Michel, is often called the oyster capital of France. At low tide sprawling oyster beds can be seen going out far into the sea.
I have already enlisted my boys to collect apples as they fall this year, to save the hideous job of collecting them, rotten, at the end of the season. This was one day's worth of fallen apples (from 12 trees). The ground is covered again!
