It is noon, the fog is heavy.

I stopped to watch the sun struggling to give Earth just a bit of light.

First Snowdrops of 2021

First snowdrops of the year, as usual, they come out in mid-January.

The sound of a stream in the background, 

a solace,

and if you listen carefully

you can hear me sighing with love and amazement.

More snowdrops. With the snow.

What happens if snowdrops come out and in snows?

Well, they're snowdrops, they survive. In French they are called perce-neiges — piercing the snow.

Here they are, after the heavy snowfalls at the end of January 2019.

After the snowfall.

White on white. Winter.

A frosty morning, followed by snowing, or pretending to snow today. Hopeless! The sun has come out, time for a dog walk.

These pictures are from mid-January, when it snowed seriously for a few days.

Ginger in Winter.

It's a blustery day but there's a gingerhead that is refusing to shed its cheerful gingerness.

There is a botanical explanation. Still, I like to think it's her character that is different from the others. I like to think I am like her too.

This one is last year's, with my Golden retriever Strelka pretending to be a snowdrop.
