Golden Autumn.

An evening walk near St.Christophe de Chaulieu. You can see me walking by the first tree on the left.

The light in Normandy, it's fantastic.

In the second picture, my retriever Strelka faces off a stray cow.

Yesterday on a country road. Cows marching for the morning milking session, around 10 o'clock. The farmer's wife is at the back, urging the cows on. He is somewhere at the head of the procession. 

Note the huge udder in th first photo. Stone crosses with crucifixes are at every crossroad in our parts.

Dalmatian Cows.

Even cows can be Dalamatians -

Cows have hair-styles.

All our cows have straight fringes. Except this one, who sports a double parting. Fashion victim.

Hairstyling for Cows

Did anyone notice how lovely cows' hairstyles look? What a nice blond fringe this one has! I wonder if they blow-dry them too.

The Pink Cow

I have realised that there aren't enough cows on this blog even though Normandy is famous for its
dairy and beef. So, here's a friendly bullock trying to figure out what I'm up to.

And after a visitor remarked that all cows here have a shade of pink, I started checking: it's amazing, but they do.

Magpie Buck Riding Event

Ever seen those African birds riding on the back of the buffalo? Or Texas cowboys competing in bull riding?

Here is the Normandy version: magpies riding on bullocks. Whatever it was there the birds seemed to find lots.
