C'était une journée chaude et ensoleillée à la plage, la mer était chaude et agréable.

Peut-être, le dernier jour de la saison balnéaire.

Plus tard dans l'après-midi, la brume est venue et a rendu tout magique

Météo France a promis 11% de probabilité de pluie.
Eh bien, nous avons obtenu ces 11%. Sinon c'était bien.

The beach swiftly emptied as the thunderstorm approached. It was dead calm — and then a violent squall lashed out.

Super Spring Tide (Grande Marées) at Mont Saint Michel.

On Saturday, 21 March 2015, the French Grand Ouest (West France) was bashed by a super high spring tide, an event that happens when the Moon passes closest to the Earth on its elliptic orbit. They say it was the grand marées du siecle — spring tide of the century, with tidal waves going as high as a four-story house.

Here is a selection of photos by Joke Reijnders (the Netherlands) who went to see the event firsthand with the family. None of hers got washed away.

The White Beach at Eu/Treport.

The white cliffs of Treport in Upper Normandy give its harbour and pebbled beach a very distinct colour. Atmospheric.
